Radish cake is a common Chinese snacks. It is easy to make and you can try to make these Hong Kong style Radish Cake (港式萝卜糕) at home.
There are two common variant, Steamed version and Fried version.
Below is a video on how to prepare one.
First prepare cake base composition. Ingredients includes:
- 900ml water
- 625g Rice Flour
- 500g Corn Flour
- 500g Potato Flour
- 500g Wheat Flour
- 3g Yeast
Mix all the above ingredient in a cooking pot till well mixed and smooth.
Then prepare the radish flavoured soup. Ingredients includes:
- Cooking Oil
- Garlic
- Dried shrimps
- 100g Dried Radish
- Chopped Chinese Sausages
- 1 pcs Maggi Chicken Stock Cube
- 40g Sugar
- 30g Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
- 2500ml water
Pre heat the frying pan, then pour in cooking oil and heat the oil till hot.
While still hot, add in some garlic, dry shrimps, dried radish, chopped chinese sausages and Chicken Stock Cube. Stir well. Then add in Sugar , salt and pepper powder. Finally add in water and stir the mixture well and cook till boiled.
When both was done, Mix the cake base composition and radish flavoured soup together and stir throughly. This form the Radish Cake base composition.
Prepare a baking pan by spreading the surface with cooking oil, cover the pan with cooking paper, and place the final composition in the pan.
Steam the Radish Cake for 90 minutes and it forms the steam radish cake which can be ready to be served.
To make fried Radish cake, all you need to do is dip in a bowl of mixed beaten eggs and fry them till golden yellow.
