Tired with regular cakes and want to try something new ? what about Steamed Soft Cakes ? Here are Quick and easy Recipe on how to make Steamed Glutinous QQ Soft Cake. Also known as QQ软糕, 耳朵糕, Ear shape cake.

- 225g Glutinous flour
- 45g Wheat flour
- 15g Tapioca flour
- 75g Butter
- 140g Sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Salt
- 300ml Water
- Pandan Colouring
- Red Rose Colouring
First melt 75g of butter , mixed with 140g of Sugar. This butter mixture will be used later.
Then prepare the green colouring by mixing well 300ml water with few drops of pandan colour and 1/2 tbsp salt.
Then stir mix the green colouring with 225g glutinous flour, 45g wheat flour and 15g tapioca flour. Mix till thoroughly and smooth. This will form the base of the cake.
Then spread the butter mixture that we prepare earlier on evenly on the cake baking pan. It will form a barrier.
Pour in the green cake base mixture via a filter to purify the content.
Steam the green cake base for 20 minutes. It will form a solid thin layer of green soft cake.
While the base is still hot, brush across the surface evenly with pandan colouring and red rose colouring. Leave it cool for 10 minutes.
Once cooled, roll up the soft cake from the edges like a swissroll. Sprinkle the outer sticky layer with glutinous flour, make sure is evenly coated all around.
Finally serve it cool by slicing them evenly.
